Abstract | We report the results of a theoretical study of the response of atomic clusters to an intense short laser pulse. Numerical simulations are based on a time-dependent density-functional method for a one-dimensional model of chain of atoms. The electron dynamics is investigated with frozen ion positions. Results concerning the initial stage of ionization, together with high-order harmonic generation are presented. |
