Training sessions

Spectroscopy Lectures

Every year, the Theoretical Spectroscopy Group, in particular Francesco Sottile, organizes a five-days school on Spectroscopy Theory and Computational Applications. Topics are TDDFT, GW and Bethe-Salpeter Equation. The school presents Tutorials and Hands-On on the ABINIT-GW, EXC and DP codes.
From 2001 to 2006, these training sessions took place at the Ecole Polytechnique in Palaiseau. From 2007 to 2011, they were hosted by the CECAM in Lyon and in Lauzanne. Since 2012, the school takes place alternatively at the Ecole Polytechnique and in CECAM (see the session in Palaiseau in 2012 and download lectures). In 2014, the Spectroscopy Lectures are again organised at the Ecole Polytechnique.

Training for experimentalists

The main scope of these introductory training days organised by Francesco Sottile is to provide attendees with both the theoretical foundations and the knowledge about ab initio calculations, in order to facilitate discussions and collaborations between experimentalists and theoreticians.
