This edition of the correlation meeting takes place at the Ecole Polytechnique, 25-26 November 2025.
[This meeting will be followed by the ETSF RTL's meeting on 27 November].
This discussion meeting is dedicated to the first-principles treatment of electronic correlation, aiming to assess the true limit of current approaches, identify common "grand challenges", and stimulate further developments.
Following our tradition, the meeting will consist of short talks (≈10 minutes) proposed by participants, followed by longer (up to 1 hour) discussions.
In the International Year of Quantum Science, we will particularly discuss specific aspects of electron correlation:
- excitons, coherent superposition of many-body quantum states, and their (de-)localization
- non-classical observables, pair densities and density matrices
- virtual excitations, both in dynamical screening and in emergent resonant spectroscopies
- non-locality in the response function and connection to quantum weights and Fisher information
